Resumen: We present a systematic mapping, also calledscience mapping, to identify major areas of research activitiesconcerning Learning Technology and the evolution from onearea to another. The purpose of this work is to compareinternational tendencies with the LACLO community. The systematic mapping is primarily guided by author?skeywords co-occurrence in the dataset selected. The scope of thedata is limited by the sources of the literature used, in this casethe LACLO and ICALT conferences and relevant Journals in thearea, between years 2009 and 2016. We use the SciMat tool forthis purpose and we present the analysis performed in the field ofLearning Technology. Finally, some visual analytical studies ofthe identified areas and the relationships between them arepresented.Incorporating the evolutionary stages of a specialty into thevisual analytic study of the Learning Technology researchdomain is valuable. It provides a systematic methodology forresearchers to achieve a good understanding of how the fieldevolves, to recognize potentially insightful patterns from visuallyencoded signs, and to synthesize various information so as tocapture the state of the art of the domain.
