Resumen: We present a fault tolerant control strategy for linear sampled-data systems with bounded perturbations, which combines set-based fault detection and isolation (FDI) with controller reconfiguration based on virtual actuators. The controller, the virtual actuators and the FDI unit operate under variable sampling rate, a feature that allows the overall closed-loop system to be regarded as a discrete-time switched system. Using recent techniques to compute invariant sets for switched systems, we compute ?healthy? and ?faulty? sets that the FDI unit utilises to diagnose actuator faults. Correct FDI, guaranteed by the separation between these sets, and consequent controller reconfiguration using a virtual actuator adapted to the diagnosed fault situation ensure the preservation of boundedness and tracking properties both under healthy and faulty conditions.
