Welcome to my research web page
In this page you will find information about my work as PhD student at CIFASIS, past and present research projects.
I was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1983. I received the Degree in Computer Sciences in 2007 from Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Rosario, Argentina. Afterwards, I worked in a software factory enterprise for about two years before starting my Phd. I had a 4 year PhD. scholarship from the mincyt Agency between 2009 and 2013. In 2010 I did a 6 month stage in the LSIS laboratory in Marseille, France, where I began my current PhD thesis research. In febrary 2015 I defended my PhD. thesis. Nowadays I have a posdoc scholarship at CONICET for researching in Neuralimaging.
Main Research Interests
My first research steps were in the area of Machine Learning. My final degree thesis work was about Random Forest-like strategies for Neural Network Ensembles Construction. Nevertheless, a few years later I started my PhD in the area of digital image processing. I work in image segmentation and features analysis in diverse fields of application.
Thesis Research Subject
Most of my thesis work is in the area of medical imaging. My thesis research subject is part of a interdisciplinary project called MoDyPe that basically studies the feminine pelvic organs prolapse in aged women. It comprises image segmentation, geometrical and physical organ modelization, feature analysis, dynamic systems and simulation. I work in the automatic segmentation of the three main pelvic organs (bladder, uterus, rectum) in dynamic (2D+t) and volumetric(3D) MRI acquisitions.
